Why did my PNG file end up larger than the original JPG?
This is expected. PNG is a lossless format, so it does not compress photographic images as efficiently as JPG or WEBP. If a smaller file size matters more than perfect quality, convert to WEBP instead.
Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Yes, though HEIC/HEIF files can currently only be opened using Safari on a Mac or iPhone, since other browsers do not support decoding this format natively. On other browsers, export the photo as JPG from your iPhone first.
